Women run. Very supportive. Great environment to work in. Challenging in a way that provides numerous opportunities to learn.

June 2017

Dept (medical management/care redesign) has strong female leadership that fosters an extremely aggressive, hostile, and competitive environment rather than collaborative. Even some male physician directors were petty, cowered, and went with the flow rather than standing up for what's right. Other male leaders outside of this dept was a little more supportive and encouraging. Overall, dept values conformity over diversity.

Don't think it's a friendly environment to work in for anyone - a lot of politics and finger-pointing, but that's not limited to women.

May 2016

really good work / life culture, even now with being acquired by CA Technologies; seeing more women in engineering leadership roles, not so much sales. company value of "create your own reality" is pretty ambiguous when it comes to growth and promotion.

This company was ok. Not the best, not the worst, but could have been better. They were sold off to another bigger company.

November 2015

Annual raises do not keep up with inflation. If you are good, your workload will be very high (and you'll get great experience), but don't expect to get paid more for it. There are significant pay equity issues between assistant scientists and assistant professors, although they are supposed to be the same. The childcare situation in Baltimore is terrible, and the tuition at JHU's new childcare center is 40% of my take-home pay. No guaranteed protected time off for having a baby/adopting (even unpaid). Lab directors can give paid leave at their discretion, but this seems to vary widely.
