The company can be a great place to work, if you have a good team and a good manager. However, some at the company have "old school" ways of thinking when it comes to overall company strategy, innovation (the company's offering and culture) and the training and development of all employees (both men and women). Someone is hired for a specific role, without their long term potential in mind. Career development plans are almost non-existent. Maternity leave policy is base level. 5-6 weeks paid, FMLA for the rest. Some teams allow flexible work hours/work from home, but depends on the manager. No paternity leave policies.

There are a lot of smart, capable women working here, and there are many opportunities to shape your career here. But after a certain number of years, it does feel like you hit a wall in development. It definitely can still feel like a boys club. Many of our top executives are men and so find other men to promote, praise, and generally provide opportunities to grow. And try having a conversation with one of those men without sounding like you're imagining a problem.

I worked at Peerless for over 5 years and in the office in which I worked there was a high percentage of woman which made it comfortable. There are very few women in higher up management roles, but a few woman managers within our office in a couple of departments. I am not sure how the salaries compared between men and woman with the same job title and similar experience levels. Women that used maternity leave were not judged poorly, they just made you use up all of your accrued PTO before you could take STD or other form of maternity leave.
