All male Senior Executive Leadership. Maybe someday a woman will be hired into this male dominated leadership circle.

June 2017

The CEO had committed to having equal pay for women and 50/50 male/female leadership by 2020. But there is still a long way to go. Lots of teams (including the CEO's leadership team) are still made up of a majority of white males.

It varies from manager to manager, and function to function but most managers are fairly flexible. 16 week mat leave is the standard I've heard most other moms take, since the company offers an extra 4-weeks of (unpaid) job-protected leave on top of FMLA requirements.

  • Took Maternity Leave Here? (Weeks)

    16 paid / unpaid

Paid weeks included weeks that I received disability and my employer matched the difference of my full salary, as well as weeks that I used up all vacation days, floating holidays and sick days. You need to use up all those days before you take unpaid leave.

Each studio is a franchise and runs slightly differently than one another. Overall, the atmosphere at each is very encouraging and you learn a great deal about fitness and operating a small business.

Be prepared to take a strong, yet graceful, position in order to progress. Look after the younger women, who would benefit from mentoring in order to fully develop their potential. Be sure to get involved in the Women in Leadership programme, and push your line manager for access. Escalate if needed.

Flexible working is a key pillar at O2. Departments can sometimes vary in it's tolerance, but for the most part it is a company policy that is widely recognised and valued.

Take advantage of the tuition reimbursement benefit ASAP, don't expect to go anywhere as far as growing in the company. Also the culture is horrendous. Unfortunately, a great deal of workplace bullying, rank and file.

I have worked here for many years. Women are unjustly subjected to scrutiny. I work more hours than many of the men in my department but administration has made me part time because I wished for some different hours.

My primary complaint is that non-senior administrative and support staff are second class citizens to faculty and senior staff. We are not trusted, consulted, or communicated with on important matters. It's still a great place to work, a default feminist zone.
