April 2017

It's a good company where people care about each other. There are opportunities to work across departments on projects, but there is very little to no room for growth.

Great uncertainty at this time. Management historically was diverse, but now is all middle aged white males.

Maybe. Really torn - not sure if my issues are specific to this organization or the big-bank industry in general. Decision making seems to be focused solely on short term.

June 2016

The nature of a rural location and boarding school schedule is it can be very isolated community socially; make sure you get to know who else you'll be living and working with, see if you are a good community fit. It changes year to year. These people will be your colleagues and friends; it is hard with the schedule and location to meet people in the greater community.

I think for others it was around 5-6 weeks, not sure if paid or not...I think there was a payroll deduction

  • One Thing Employer Could Improve

Improve work-life balance and policies (e.g. flex-time, limit face time)

  • Recommend to Women?

Maybe. Traditionally an all-male environment, only transitioning to having more of a female staff presence in the last ten years or so. Isolated nature of campus can lead to some outdated ideas of women's roles, interests, etc. Many in leadership are working to address these issues. If you are a feminist, be prepared to be a leader among many young 20-somethings who might not have worked anywhere else.

March 2016

If you don't mind long hours, especially working in the field, it's a good job. They pay extremely well, but expect you to give 150% of yourself to the project you're on if you're on a job site. They're not always flexible with taking time off, and not always willing to transfer you where you want to go.

  • Recommend to Women?

Maybe. Typical days can last 9-10 hours, and if you're working in the field, expect 10-12 hour days. I was in both the office environment as well as on job sites, and I told them I wanted to transition back into an office after project completion after my 3rd field project, and they flat out said no.
