"Cox Health is a terminate at will company. You do not have any rights when it comes to keeping your job. They believe in a paper trails, you will be written up first before they ask you your side of the issue at hand. Transfer to a different department is not allowed if you have been written up for any reason with in the last six months. If you are over fifty, and slowing down some, they will find a reason to write you up, so they can let you go easily. I have been told directly, that new graduate nurses can easily replace me at half of the cost. I have not received any sort of pay raise in years, besides a cost of living raise. They treat new graduates like they should know everything pertaining to critical care in six weeks. There is very little educational support after the first six weeks of training. I have seen other over fifty year old coworkers be fired for one small incident. I have been actively bullied at work by a charge nurse, One day when she was particularly aggressive, I went to her directly and asked her to stop. I was told " sorry you deserve the treatment you are receiving, you are a terrible nurse anyways". I was written up the next two shifts I worked, and I was suspended for another two shifts, for asking questions about the concerns they had. I was reminded that I work at a terminate at will facility, I do not have the right to ask questions about my treatment from my charge nurse. There is no expectations, preventing a charge nurse from bulling co workers. Rarely does anyone I work with feel comfortable enough to take a lunch break, or a fifteen minute break. I worked the night shift in critical care for the last fifteen years. Good luck to anyone who works for Cox Medical Center Branson."
