"Follow the current news on CUNY; right now it's in a serious crisis, and some parts are more directly affected than others. A turnaround seems inevitable sooner or later, since this institution is so essential to NYC, but that depends on politics in NYC and especially in Albany."

"Good policy thanks to union bargaining (almost all employees are covered by a union). 8 weeks came out of accumulated sick leave. C-sections receive 16 weeks total, "normal" births receive 14 weeks total.
Employees at the highest executive category are not covered by a union and only receive sick leave.
Paternity leave was also recently introduced for unionized employees."
