Work-life policies are inconsistent, depending on individual manager preferences and unrelated to job requirements or performance. It's only a great place to work if you are part of the "in" crowd and privy to all the secrets being told behind closed doors.

You need to be 100% committed to the company or you will not do well. Your position should come before anything. They normally have you working 36 hour weeks so they feel you should have your personal life taken care of on your days off and if you cannot then they expect you to find a family member or friend to do it for you.

All departments have the same policies and rules as far as flexibility is concerned. They expect you to be there at your scheduled time and if you are late 3 times you are written up, no matter what your home/life circumstances are that you have no control over.

There is finally a diversity effort (thanks to a fabulous woman) however, there seems to be serious issues following these initiatives. While there is great diversity in architecture, there is almost zero within engineering. This is especially true at leadership levels.

Very supportive environment for raising a family. You will work incredibly hard, which sometimes means working before or after kids go to bed, but you'll have the flexibility to allow you to pick up/drop off/take time off etc.

Don't expect support. My experience has been that this company vaules client relationship over employee support. Even if the client is treating you poorly, they will support the wrongness of the client over you.

April 2017

Still an old boys club. The company tries but there is a lot of unconscious bias = when men ask for raises and promotions they lean heavily on emphasizing they are the "head of their families" (even when their wives make equal to or more). Women tend to get more push-back and our salaries are often thought of as supplemental - that we must have someone else (spouse, family money) supporting us. Men get promoted twice as often as women (with the exception where the woman has a parent or spouse who works/ed at the company).

I worked there for 3 years. Management is male-dominated, and your overall experience will determine greatly depending on what team you are currently working on. Women who have children to care for aren't given much freedom to do so. Overall, it varies.
