"As an early-mid career woman, I am looking for
- a good parental leave policy for when I can start to plan a family: Dell gives 4 weeks paid maternity. Is that even competitive in the market anymore? You can take up to 12 weeks as part of the FMLA, but that is unpaid or partially paid.
- Loan Refinancing : as a large employer with a functional university recruiting program, Dell is the poster child for the true american success story. However, while student loan crisis is huge in the US and just by sheer power of numbers, Dell has a huge leverage to negotiate better rates for students joining its ranks. It does not. Most tech employers Microsoft, Apple, Facebook, Google, etc are doing it to retain employees for longer. And this wouldn't cost them a thing. Dell shirks its responsibility by not offering either the undergrads/grads it hires from college a support to get their student loan refinanced. "
