Be prepared to ask for what you are worth. Don't expect the owners to just give it to you. You have to be proactive and assertive. This is true for men as well.

Very little stigma about taking the full paid leave and many (most?) women take additional unpaid time. Experience for women and family-friendliness varies from team to team and project to project but my experience was good and everyone was very respectful. The firm offers part-time options, but it seems like it is difficult 1) to actually work less in practice and 2) advance past a certain point in the organization while on part-time.

Kettle is a great environment and everyone who works there is really smart. It's a young company that's growing fast. People work really hard, sometimes a little too hard. There have been some growing pains but management knows this and has been working hard to overcome. It is a pretty young culture and sometimes there are some immaturity issues but people are mostly pretty professional. There are really no issues with equality between men and women.
