"Be open with your needs, advocate for yourself, network - be ready to put in time and work hard, but the balance can be made if you express those needs. Echo is more willing to work with you once tenure has been gained and you've 'proven' yourself. Never feel intimidated, we have a solid group here and diversity is important to Echo! "

"1. I think this comes down to more of a balance of workload. Not much flexibility in this, or in compensation - but there are some employees who have the workload of 2 or 3 people, yet are evaluated and compensated using a rigid structure, when our teams and accounts are not a one-size-fits-all model. Managers do not have a voice when it comes to the pay and compensation of their team members. Percentages are set for evaluations, meaning there must be a certain percentage of employees falling into each rating group (1-4). If you have an entire team of top performers, at least 1 or 2 will be moved to lower performance rankings because of the rigid process.
2. Many companies offer flex when it comes to remote work, if it's a position that requires you to be using a computer for your entire workday. Meetings are held through MS teams, and in some cases, individuals on account teams are spread out across the country. Giving employees the option to work remotely, if they are strong performers and if it will not impact business (actually helps when it's a long commute or individual preference) - is something I wish Echo would reevaluate. The rigidity in requiring Account Executives and Managers to be physically in the office is something that needs to improve. As a "general rule" there's no flexibility in that - some unique cases do have exceptions, but it's an old-school way of thinking, without any solid basis behind it, that everyone must work at a desk in an office to be successful. We've lost out on some top talent because they wouldn't consider hiring someone on that's working remotely, too far from an office location to commute each day. One particular example was a strong candidate who had over 10 years of experience, and had been telecommuting the entire time."

"In the 8 years that I have worked here, Echo has done a phenomenal job of promoting/hiring women into vital leadership roles and across the sales floor as well. I feel equal to all of my male peers, I have more than doubled my salary in annual merit increases/promotions, and I feel I have a strong, valued voice within my area of the business. The benefits are great and the management team are flexible and understanding of the every day struggles of parenthood and the logistics industry. I have referred several friends for open positions because I am truly proud of my company and what they have to offer."

"Logistics has always been male dominated, and there are more men than women in some departments of Echo. I believe senior leadership is dedicated to making Echo an inclusive workplace and recognize that diversity is a piece of the puzzle that will lead to success. "

"They're understanding of life that happens outside of work and will work with you, but sadly the flexibility of being able to work from home or on flex hours has considerably diminished in the last year."
