Client facing consultants travel, it's a fact of the role (and they are compensated accordingly), there is a little bit of always on mentality but no different to other big consulting firms.

Maybe. There is a distinct difference between core services (HR, Marketing, Finance etc) and the Consulting (client facing) workforce. If you're good with that, then Avanade is a good place to work.

Do I think Avanade is an equal opportunities employer? - Absolutely. Do I think we still have work to do? - Of course. Do we have the want and the drive to be inclusive and attract and retain more women? - Without doubt.

There are employee groups and some actions to promote gender equality in this employer however, we still miss executive and leadership support.

We need more of us to balance out the company. Many of the women come and go in sales, and we need to stay, grow and develop and intimidate the men a little more!

Fujitsu in Poland has really strong focus on women and encouraning more and more women to join the company, especially as it is IT company and there is no much candidates among women to work in this industry. They take care of gender equality and even on managerial positions there are more and more women.

Depending on the group you work for, you could have a very positive experience or not. The overall culture is very entrepreneurial which is appealing to a great deal of women, but it comes with the challenge to be able to navigate through high ambiguity. It is a very Asian male dominated organization which could bring challenges in the way business is conducted at times.

Most folks are able to work remote and make their own schedule as long as they deliver expected results.

  • Recommend to Women?

Maybe. Depending on their line of expertise, and their overall background, Cognizant could be a great place for women to work. Cognizant has an entrepreneurial culture that could be very appealing for most female workers.

Horrible maternity leave in this day and age. Unisys should be ashamed of itself for not supporting more maternity leave and should offer some paternity leave.

This really depends on your particular manager. The company does do 'swipe reports' looking at how often you are in the office. They take that into consideration during layoffs. The CEO did come in a few months ago to chastise the employees for not being in the office often enough -- when he read the percentage of people in the office, we were shocked he was saying anything to us because it was really good! He should have better things to do that worry about who is and isn't in the office.
