Flexibility varies greatly depending upon and employees reporting structure. Some people can telecommute regularly or flex, others have to be at their desk at a certain time with scheduled breaks and it can be difficult even to schedule paid time off. If a flexible schedule is important to you, be sure to find out which type of manager you would be reporting to.

May 2016

From what I saw, women are treated as fairly as men. But overall, employees are not valued as much as they could/should be.

September 2015

I work in a more female-dominated org (can't really talk about the eng side) and have been treated very well. Everyone I've worked with has been down-to-earth and eager to learn and teach. However, because people are so nice, you can at times miss out on learning opportunities (as in people don't want to point out to you areas of improvement or they tend to beat around the bush). Management is definitely male-dominated, especially the higher up you go. However, it's an ongoing discussion, which is nice, and women meet regularly to discuss how to improve things.

May 2015

I worked here for 5 years and wish I hadn't stressed so much about my maternity leave. My team was fully supportive through this tough personal period, and I was still respected for my work ethic and performance. My advice to other women is to pay attention to building better relationships with the senior management (which is predominantly older and male). Its hard for younger women to do this but watch carefully how some of the more senior women do it because its very important for your career advancement.
