Don't. It's an excellent firm at the top of its field, but there is no genuine opportunity for advancement to equity partner, even though one of the existing equity partners is female.

October 2016

There are so many women in leadership roles and the CEO is a woman. The product is aimed for women and so it is a very empowering space to work in! I suppose my main concern would be the lack of diversity within the team. There are a few women of color in leadership roles. There are no black women in any leadership roles and there are only a couple of black women working in the office.

Long hours during busy seasons...no flexibility on leaving early or telecommuting. Even during snow storms you're expected to go to offuce. You carry a laptop but can't connect at home.

Very concious of the inequalities faced by women in the Technology industry and takes an effort to ensure such issues are not present in their culture and work environment.

If you are able to be utterly flexible and giving of your time this will be a good fit and you will feel valued. The moment you need to balance your work and life commitments more, you will feel less valued. If you truly enjoy the work this will be less of a challenge. Generally, if you work less over time hours as compared to a similarly rated peer this may be used as grounds for bumping down your overall rating and thus pay. The idea being that those putting in more hours are demonstrating more commitment to the firm vs. being less efficient than you are. Your experience can vary depending on who you work with and is often luck of the draw. There are a few people who can facilitate and mentor you through some of these hurdles, while others are too focused on their own personal goals and professional ambitions or simply lack such aptitude.

June 2015

Paid maternity leave + option to take unpaid leave. Very few women at the highest level of the organization. There are many women at the middle management level. Many people in the organization have been here for decades which is a double edged sword. Its a great company, growing, aggressive, great benefits. Only about 300 people in corporate minimizes the opportunity to go 'up' the ladder. Lots of opportunity to go 'across' and learn many different skills in many different areas of the company.
