September 2018

Understand the expectations of your team and role. Guidewire is very much a meritocracy and they do take reports of inappropriate conduct VERY seriously. offensive and inappropriate behavior is simply not tolerated. On the flip side, not all jobs/roles provide full flexibilty due to job requirements.

Depends a lot on the position and direct leadership. There are certainly functions where there is much more flexibility, but it really depends on the job requirements.

July 2018

This company hires young 20 something's as a means of mitigating the risk of salary/benefit negotiation. I've heard from HR directly that because young women "are so thankful to be employed" they won't attempt any negotiation.

July 2018

Males are paid higher than women, compensation is unfair across the board, they tend to pay less to internal promotions, yet up to 10-12k (annually) to external hires. Leaving you wondering why you continue to get paid less than other academic medical centers in NYC and why you remained with NYU.

    12 paid / unpaid

Although the majority of employees are female..don’t get pregnant here, they don’t structure the system to allow you to be out and get paid for longer than 12-18 weeks. Although you can stay out 6 months max without pay - before they’ll get rid of your job.

June 2016

Flexibility is great for home & work balance. Working from home another plus. Three weeks vacation off the bat is yet another plus (only five company holidays). But company is currently in a transitional period though and struggling to keep up with a positive outlook.

February 2016

90% of the women in high positions (Manager-Director-CXO-VP) do NOT have children. They seem to devalue the working mom once she chooses to start her family; almost as though they assume that having a child will make you less capable of doing the same work that you were doing prior to becoming a mom.

January 2016

I worked here for a little under a year and had a mixed bag experience. They do not have a clear strategy in mind when it comes to programmatic, and the ops & support teams are tiny and overworked. Veteran salespeople do well, though there are few left. Sellers are now all women, so I would definitely say it is an equal opportunity company when it comes to their hiring process.
