It helps the community, but they don't really embrace motherhood with flexiblity with telecomute or maternity benefits.

There are a lot of caring people here and I have some the most encouraging coworkers. Managers can be a bit micromanagers and the maternity benefits are not that great. The maximum amount of pay you get when you have a child is 4 weeks if you have a C Section and that is at 90% pay.

This organization is not family friendly. There is no paid maternity only "short term disability." Contracts are 10 months so if you will deliver during July or August you do not qualify for any short term disability. Teachers are expected to be available before and after contract hours with short notice. This is difficult when you have set hours for childcare.

I would not recommend to women who are wanting to have children or women who have young children.
