Make friends with other female coworkers. It will help you in future. Supervisors say they have too much to do, and no help, and are not very quick with responses to text and e-mail.

Promotions from within are very rare. Title bumps (from coordinator to “senior coordinator” do not compensate for low pay).

Would like to work from home one day a week with laptop supplied by employer (software I have to use won’t work on my computer at home). Also, my supervisor is among the many who cannot organize herself to create a predictable schedule for things that involve me. Any work from home day would be ad hoc and likely to change at a moments’ notice.

Fujitsu is a male-dominated company? Instead of thinking about stereotypes, why not ask one of our female colleagues so that they can put you right.

August 2017

There is a serious disconnect between what management thinks it is like being a woman at eShares and what it actually is like. No one at the executive level intentionally puts down women, but the people they put down or pass over for promotions disproportionately tend to be women.

As a woman in an engineering role, be prepared to back up any statement you make with science and facts. Also, the management will pass you up on any supervsor role - no matter your qualifications
