Work with your manager to see if you can work flexibility into your schedule. Some managers are very flexible and even offer work from home opportunities. Mine was not.

May 2016

The line managers are typically male and there seems to be something of a macho culture at that level. There is a definite sense that the female managers are minimized by their colleagues. There is no clear path to promotion. However, people do get promoted. Unfortunately it is not always clear why some people are promoted and others are not. These promotions are not announced or explained. Each team has its own culture - and the level of flexibility allowed varies dramatically between teams.

October 2015

Masculine Culture - trying to add more women, but not quite there yet, particularly at higher levels. It's meritocratic and there are relatively equal opportunities for women, but it's easier for men to find mentors, particularly ones who are higher up in the company.
