"Do not be intimidated by all the men in your training class. Try to apply for open positions as they come up. Most people only stay in those positions an average of 6 months anyway. Ask for more unpaid maternal leave if you're not ready to come back to work. With my first I only took 12 weeks FMLA (6 weeks paid/6 weeks unpaid).
