Ask some tough questions on gender equality and opportunities for women to be mentored. Still carries a scent of the good ole boys system but it needs to be addressed. The corporate legal team is tough for women.

    Consider yourself lucky if you remain employed through a pregnancy at CORE. If you are in a clinical position, chances are you will be found at fault for something and let go.

    The CEO is tyrannical and needs replaced. The leadership team needs to support their staff. Employee decisions are made purely on opinions and "feelings" of the CEO, despite legitimate facts. Staff are made to feel like nothing they do is ever right. Money is spent lavishly on alcohol... I'm sure to drown their consciences.

    I've read the collective bargaining contract repeatedly and still couldn't say what they would do with a pregnant officer, makes the possibility terrifying, but trying to schedule doctor visits for renewed birth control is already super difficult.

    BIG factor is improve balance and policies. But benefits and compensation also need a check, such as providing sick days and actually allowing them to be used or for doctors appointments to be scheduled more easily. Work schedules come out two days before they start.

Phacil used to have a lot of women leaders. When I started, a woman was my immediate manager, another was her manager, and there were several women with the title "Director." When I left, there were literally only white men between me and the CEO.

Good ole boy network is still alive and well at the Federal Reserve Banking System. Different standards for women versus men (for example - dress code, responsibility, jobs, etc.). This quasi-government system is filled with very low performers and the organization is resistant to change. Would NOT recommend for mid-career women. Women fill many NON-TECHNICAL roles. Very hard to break into tech roles. The culture is similar to Mad Men - stuck in a different era. Not to mention the antiquated systems and antiquated management. The good ole boy (men's network) stays in touch with one another outside of work and even re-hires former employees (after they were let go at another private company) without interviewing. The turnover is high for high performers for this reason and ones who do not rock the boat (the low performers never leave) due to the over the top benefits and the low expectations of their management.
