"So, they're flexible in the sense that if you have appointments or something - there is nothing wrong with needing those. But they do not have a good balance with Work/life. The upper management has this mindset that if you're not working more than 40 hours, you're not doing enough, and your day doesn't end at 5PM or on Fridays. I believe work should stay at work, I don't work on the weekends or after 5 (unless it's really needed) and I don't think anyone should - I won't make my direct reports do that, I think everyone should value the mental health of their employees and let them have lives outside of work. We don't even work in an industry where I think our work is super urgent and/or immediate - so why is there this constant pressure to overwork the employees?"
Is paid parental leave offered, and if so, how much?
"Yes"
6 Weeks Paid | 0 Weeks Unpaid
"They recently changed this policy (thanks to a little complaining from me and my manager). For women, you get 6-8 weeks (depending on how you deliver with Short Term disability at 60% of your pay (and there is a week that you have to wait for it to kick in, so technically it's 5-7 weeks, 1 week is totally unpaid). After the short term disability you then have 6 weeks at 100% pay. You can take this any time in the first year, and take one day at a time if needed."
Would you recommend Frontier Energy to other women?
"Maybe"

"My old manager would have been given a 10/5. She quit, and now her boss is my manager, he is the one I'm giving a 3. He's trying to balance too much, doesn't know what to prioritize - and the people that report to him struggle because sometimes he's super over your shoulder and micromanaging, and other times he's so distant you can't get a response from him for a simple question..."
