6 mo paid maternity leave since Cisco acquired AppDynamics!! Cisco gets it- but AppD very much has that male start up feel to it and it's an extremely YOUNG office that hasn't had to deal with gender bias/family people yet.

It's a garbage dump -- don't work here unless you want a dead end job where you're mistreated. Underpayment across the board but especially for women.

If you are a working mother, beware. They say they support working parents but do not have the policies and management in place to actually do it. They were not understanding or accommodating to limitations on travel due to family needs. They kept track of your networking and dinged you in reviews if you weren't doing enough. Interestingly, on the clock networking over coffee and lunch didn't seem to count as much. Lastly, recently, the working parents (especially those with young children) have been passed for promotions and or demoted. While the promotions went to singles and men with older children.

    They appear to be flexible but my management was keeping tabs. In my annual review they brought up a missed happy hour and other after hour team events (even though I did attend 80-90%). Also, when arriving later due to family needs, my one hour late start was mentioned in a one on one meeting.

    They are very flexible and accommodating to mothers and fathers. Working from home is common for both genders (parents and child-free, both).

    This maternity leave policy may no longer be in affect after the company was purchased by Nikkei (sale closed Dec 2015). The UK statutory maternity pay kicks in after the 20 weeks of paid leave from the employer. That lasts for 19 weeks. Then there were 13 weeks of unpaid leave

don't recommend it, the culture is set and you learn whether you will sink or swim rather quickly. unless you have a sponsor, good luck moving up regardless of how many hours you put in. it's an old-school culture, the white male engineer arrogance is very present. It does not help that most of my fellow male colleagues have stay at home wives -- although it's tacit, you will receive incredulous looks, at times, and it is evident what they are thinking. why are you playing with the boys?
