"When I first started at Gilead, I was a bit overwhelmed in that I was supporting a Department that was 95% men. I thought, wow this is going to be "interesting" to say the least. Entering into an industry that I had never worked before was definitely a culture shock, so I had MANY questions that sometimes didn't even pertain to my daily duties, but just more of the manufacturing or engineering industry and processes as a whole so that I could better understand my environment. However, no matter who I asked, regardless of their stature at Gilead, my questions were always treated as important as any others. If it were not for the support of the Executive Director and Director that I was supporting at the time, I would not be where I am today, pursuing my interest in a legal capacity. They provided me with hours of mentorship and support both in my career and understanding my position, how it makes a difference in saving lives and my IMPORTANCE in a male predominant workplace. "
