"If you join the research division you will gain a wealth of research skills and knowledge, but if you don't have a PhD you will not have opportunities to continue advancing your career or lead a team. Similarly, it has become increasingly difficult to be promoted between junior/mid/senior research levels, even for a junior research staff member that has a Masters. While not an academic institution, there is a strict rigidity on credentials for advancement between levels.
There has also been a lot of talk about diversity and inclusion, and some progress but not what you would hope for at this point. If you can, talk to some staff about what matters to you to see if Guttmacher is a good fit for your priorities. If you decide Guttmacher is the right next step for you, just go in eyes wide open. "

"Guttmacher is a great place to work, as evidenced by very long staff tenures, and the pay and benefits are fantastic for a nonprofit. However, sometimes management pays lip service to work/life balance and wellness while not actually doing anything to support employees who are overworked and stretched too thin."
