There are no women in executive positions, and only 1 woman on the Board (who is not up for reelection). This employer feels like a boys' club, and while they say (albeit, not very loudly) that they support inclusion, etc, they are not taking any steps to show that they mean it.

    Many people can work from home from time to time. The company is tolerant of people having flexible hours.

    Parental leave is 3 weeks paid. An aberration. Paternity leave is 3 weeks. Maternity leave is 3 weeks + state law. In California, maternity leave is 6 weeks of disability at 75% of salary, plus 3 weeks (CA bonding) at 55% of salary (technically, this is 6 weeks in California, but Keysight pays 3 of those weeks at 100%, which is their sole benefit). Everything else is unpaid leave, which the company allows its employees to take. While their flexibility is generous on its face, it is a shell perk, because it is not something breadwinning women can afford to take.

You will not get the same pay of a man doing the same job - unless you are in our commission-only sales jobs. For hourly - put in for overtime when you need to work late. For salary - it doesn't matter how much time you put in - you not only get ZERO pay, but they don't cut you ANY slack when you need time off.

    It is absolutely ridiculous that you can't take 2 hours off - you either take a half day or you reschedule for an evening or Saturday if you can. This is SO INSANE in this day and age.

I have worked here only 11 months, however, I was hired while 4 months pregnant (everyone was aware I was pregnant when hired). While the management is certainly male-dominated, there are a number of women in prominent positions. Putnam is making a concerted effort to hire women in the legal department and has gone from 1 woman to 3 in the past year. This is still a significant disparity, however, I have not found that the treatment of attorneys varies significantly based on gender. After having my baby I took the 12 paid weeks of parental leave, 2 weeks of vacation time, and an additional unpaid week of time. My boss was nothing by supportive of the time that I took, and also supported my request to work one day a week from home for the forseeable future.

Great, supportive environment for women, but the pay is not equal to the current living expenses in the area. For what you lose in pay you gain in flexibility. Several women are in executive roles and carry the brunt of legwork. Due to the type of industry (retail), women are able to thrive and advance, though the small size of the company limits options.
