Be very clear with work life balance. Be very clear and vocal with goals and shifting priorities. If company priorities are not allowing your goals to be worked on, have your goals reviewed and rewritten.

May 2018

Magic Leap's heart is in the right place and I do think that leadership cares deeply about issues around equality and inclusivity. Since we are moving at such a rapid speed, it is harder to really push the whole organization to be on the same page. Team managers need some more training because it does seem like there is a slight disconnect from Senior Leadership down to those below management.

The policies in themselves are great, however, in practice I do believe it is harder for some teams to take advantage.

This is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door in the aerospace industry. There are many business units under the UTC umbrella and you have the ability to explore all through rotational programs, internships, or full time positions.

I think it depends on the need for each department and location of the site. If you able to discuss with your supervisor prior to or your HR manager if you are not able to speak with your supervisor.

In regards to gender, it isn't a bad place to work. Just looking at the company in general, the policies are decided at the top and dictated to the rest of the company.

Unfortunately MSG has a very "good old boys" mentality with little work life balance. They did just add a maternity policy of 12 weeks paid leave, which is great.

I believe women are treated fairly at the firm however you see few progressing to very senior levels particularly in front office roles due to dedication, hours and travel required as well as a lack of flexible working.
