"The transportation sector, and MPOs, is fairly male (and older white male) dominant. It can be hard to advance and progressive and new ideas which can be very frustrating if you're trying to improve upon the status quo.
There is no maternity leave available. If you're thinking of becoming pregnant while working here, make sure to sign up for the supplemental short term disability coverage. Staff are not allowed to work part time period and my request to work 30 hours a week post maternity leave was denied. As was my request to take a take a 4 month unpaid maternity leave. Only 12 weeks of unpaid leave (under FMLA) is allowed.
Very frustrating that these decisions are made behind closed doors by a group of old white men."

"Staff are allowed to follow a 9-80 schedule, where you have every other Friday off.
However, staff do not have laptops (it's 2019!) so it's virtually impossible to work remotely or have flexible hours. Staff are expected to be in the office for the full day. Also, we're required to have a 1-hour lunch every day. Weird."

"3/9 executives are women. The men have been in charge since the 70s. The women who've been there that long are two steps down from the execs. There's no maternity leave per se, just your sick time, vacation time, and 6 weeks unpaid FMLA. As far as time flexibility, this is a great place to work once you have kids. But don't look for mentors, expect promotions, or a path to success. Do your job or network your way out. It seems more difficult for women to advance."
