"IHS Markit is not gender equal - however I think there is definitely a recognition that increasing diversity and gender equality is a desirable outcome. It has some good policies (including 6 months full pay maternity leave globally) which support this, as well as (within the UK) an benefits option for a healthcare package which includes this year for the first time fertility treatment and gender dysphoria support. Flexible working/ working from home is pretty typical(even pre pandemic) but is somewhat dependent on team/role/manager.
They need to continue to foster women's careers within the organization. Senior leadership is far more male than female, and the excuse that we operate usually in STEM industries is touted as an excuse -yet somehow in more junior levels there is a lot less disparity. "

"There are different business units with different levels of diversity; for example, the Financial group has diversity and engaged leaders, while Engineering & Product Design does not. Not a single woman at the VP level. Only two women at the next level down. There is a lot of training but do not confuse that with a commitment to change. It is a lot of white hetero men. Toxic behavior (interruptions, disrespect, gossip) is condoned. "

"You can be successful here if you learn how to navigate management and promote yourself. If you are hard-working, but keep to yourself, you will be passed over. Overall, most days, I loved working here, but I had a great manager. I saw several examples of capable, hard-working women that were passed over or even, in some cases, demoted."

"The work demands were very stressful. While unusual, nights and weekend work were expected based on client demands. It was challenging to juggle family time with this expectation. With recent reorg, responsibilities were pushed up to management and a lot of leadership and training opportunities were removed from staff."

"The management is almost exclusively old white and male.
Company grew a lot through acquisitions, which came with a lot of integration pain. Advancement requires a lot of political maneuvering."

"It is a huge company and not very consistent throughout. While I loved my career for the first 2 1/2 years, a change in my manager has made the workplace much less bearable. Several other women friends at the company have also left due to similar circumstances."
