Get everything in writing. They are big micro-managers to the good employees, but the ones that are consistently late or only do half of their work are able to take it easy.

Maternity leave is poor for a company that earns as much as it does. Only a ratio of only 1:12 female partners in senior management investment team. One female in the level below Partner. Flexible working is poor.

Fun, fast-paced, collaborative environment. CDW offers several different types of career development, wellness, and work/life resources as well as volunteer and networking opportunities. I love how much CDW gives back to the community and to charities. In my experience, management truly cares about the success of their employees professionally and personally.

February 2016

Like most organizations, there is a strong company culture, which isn't for everyone. Those who are extremely successful adapt (or innately share) the same ideals; those who try to change the culture or resist it struggle. It is a wonderful environment to learn, grow.; opportunities presented are endless.

ACOG Women's Job Satisfaction (5=very satisfied)

November 2015

The best thing about working at ACOG is the flexibility and work/life balance. Employees may telework and flex once a week with supervisor approval. The biggest downside to women is the lack of maternity leave. Employees may use short-term disability for up to 90 days and earn half of their salary (up to $4,500 per week. Employees may extend this period by taking 6 months of unpaid leave (use of vacation and sick leave is allowed). Seeing that ACOG is a leader in women's healthcare, employs mostly women, and lobbies Congress for maternity leave, this is pretty pathetic. Once employees return to work they do have a very nice mother's room to pump and store breast milk.

My 3-month internship gave me a peek into the exciting world of videogame journalism. Kill Screen in particular is full of interesting and intelligent people who are both respectful and honest. Most of us worked remotely, including the Editor, and for us Skype and Slack comprise our "office". If you're interested in videogames, journalism, and the freedom to say exactly what you're thinking, take a peek at Kill Screen.
