Many women are in leadership positions at BMS. Many women with promise are groomed for leadership positions by both male and female directors. There is both maternity leave and paternity leave, and women tend to come back after maternity leave instead of deciding to stay home. Pay and bonuses are good. That said, there is always a large amount of work to be done, leading to very packed days or long hours or both. Managers tend to be very flexible to allow for family commitments, but still expect the work to get done.

It really depends on your job type and how flexible your manager will be. Good company with good benefits. Need more diversity in management and CEO is way over compensated.

Under the guise of emphasizing "networking" and "relationship building", the company blatently rewards those who spend their time socializing with friends rather than doing a good job. The management continually reassures women that "their time will come" yet has no committment to making this a reality. The work/life balance is great, mostly because people here do not care about a good job- as long as you are "friendly" and don't "rock the boat" you will be fine in your job. Just don't think you're ever gonna move up the ladder.
