October 2018

You have your work cut out for you. Like I said, the networking and structure is sound, it's the inability to move into this age that has caused them to stall and continue to not grow. Also, the Founder is in her 80s and unfortunately is no longer really in touch with the real world of business.

Some departments and roles feel more friendly and flexible than others; there are a number of positive, professional role models.

Other departments are more flexible with their scheduling; since working remotely a majority of the time, I feel as though my flexibility has been less than when working in the office.

This is a great district to work for. They are very supportive. However, some of the principals are very demanding and not very realistic.

The district is great, but my principal makes these things difficult. We have staff meetings two hours after our contract hours on a weekly basis.

June 2018

It's a huge company so the policies exist, but the enforcement is challenging. I couldn't even tell you where HR is in my building and if that would be the right HR people to deal with an issue.

The policies are there but it's very manager dependent. My manager is good, other managers are not.

As a department manager there is no balance of home and work. It all becomes work. Constant expectations to be "on call".
