    Stop the harassment of contract workers by DOD workers. Contract workers were played against each other by DOD employees. Some contract employees would work against their contract coworkers. Instances of seeking out information about ones work instead of communicating a situation to their coworkers to help them out.

By far the best consulting firm to work for in terms of work life balance but consulting as such is challenging for the following reasons and it could be exacerbated for females: long hours, unpredictable travel/staffing, some teams can get fratty and overall high levels of stress dealing with demanding partners and clients.

    Leadership is committed to making the consulting lifestyle work for both men and women. Plenty of programs in place for flex time, sabbatical, industry secondments etc. By far the best consulting firm to work for in terms of work life balance but consulting as such is challenging for work life balance so it's a relative scale.

Cornell policies are more woman-friendly than the academic system as a whole. It can be difficult to take advantage of the policies because the culture of the organization (for those working in technical positions--this excludes administrative staff) pressures you to work longer hours and take less time off than might be healthy for you and your family over the long run.
