Don’t take the job, particularly on the technology side of the organization. Although they speak all the right words to imply they are “changing”, the same mean spirited, male dominated team still is in place. No changes in leadership that matter, not for many, many years.

If you feel you would like to make a difference in the lives of at risk and troubled youth then this career is for you. The balance between punitive measures regarding the youth and restorative justice that adheres to a holistic view of the youth and the circumstances involved with the case can be difficult to manage at times. I believe you must have a certain "knack" for fleshing out what approach to make in each case. Each case is different. If this seems like something you want to do and still not feel valued for it or sometimes feel like you are not paid for what you do, then this job may be for you.

Overall I feel that this is a company that is supportive of women in the workplace. I have always felt that my gender is well represented and that the leadership cares about me for what I bring to the table rather than my gender.

January 2016

People known to be "hazards at work" kept on for their knowledge. Culture ruled by fear and greed rather than rational thought. No women at the most senior level. My manager was a VP but there were many men above her with more senior titles. Women see other women as competition vs teammates. Cut throat culture with zero regard for basic human resource laws, much less human kindness.
