"Maybe it's good in some areas, but not all.
1) There need to be more managerial training. I once had a Director who told me, "you know what we do with complaints around here", and held up his garbage bin. He got his position from being a favorite with his boss, went from analyst to Director, so he had no managerial experience or training.
2) The HR Business reps are a joke. Always changing and when there is a change over, the new rep knows absolutely nothing and has no history of previous work items. The reps will always take the Director's and VPs side, so your complaints mean nothing.
3) No diversity among executive level. Look it up, you'll see for yourself.
4) Most of the women in leadership positions attained it from climbing the ladder, back in the day (when that actually was a thing), they will not promote other women, unless you are apart of the "favorites group" and the favorites group is usually not of color and mostly men. "

"Being at MSK, or anywhere, is much like any other relationship, in that you have to make sure the schedule and responsibilities are feasible and the chemistry of the team you work in is conducive to your ability to thrive or at least grow professionally, mentally or emotionally. Your contributions will showcase your potential, so give it your all and see where the road takes you, even if it leads you somewhere else. If you aren't learning something new or gaining experience you find valuable or rewarding, then you are not in the right place."

"Effective January 1, 2018, eligible employees will receive six weeks of fully-paid leave for the following covered events: Bonding with a newborn child born on or after January 1, 2018 & Bonding with an adopted or foster child placed on or after January 1, 2018.
Employees across MSK who work at least 20 hours per week are eligible to receive this fully-paid benefit once they have worked 26 consecutive weeks. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are eligible once they have worked 175 cumulative days.
An employee must provide at least 30 days advance notice of intent to take MSK’s Paid Parental Leave to both their manager and to our absence partner, Unum, whenever practicable.
Unum will determine leave eligibility, track requested leave time, and issue a leave approval.
Once Unum issues an approval, the manager must direct the department’s timekeeper to use an MSK-designated pay code (PAR) in order for the employee to receive the MSK Paid Parental Leave benefit.
This benefit may only be used once in a 52-week period.
