"Your career at NSA is wholly what you make it. There are great opportunities to learn new skill areas and continue your education - both inside of the agency and at external universities. Work-life balance is unmatched; there are separate buckets of sick leave and PTO, so you continually accumulate time off no matter the need."

"Hours are extremely flexible and reasonable. Any work outside of the 40 hour work week is compensated! Plus, most work is classified, so you can't/aren't expected to take it home with you."

"Find the right people to be on your board of directors. They are there, but you need to look hard and not just have anyone as a coach or mentor. "

"Most of the sexist behavior I have experienced has come from those in management (including women) and their favored employees. Promotions are scarce and are based on favoritism. Harassing women, spreading gossiping, or taking credit for the work of others is subtly rewarded. Managers rule through passive aggression and retaliate against anyone who tries to change the culture or stand up for themselves. "

"There is no maternity leave--you take accrued sick leave. Do not have a baby shortly after arriving.
There is a nerd/boys club atmosphere in which comments are openly made about the appearance and appeal of female colleagues."
