November 2017

traditional family friendly, very strict in relation to legal risk exposure relating to HR makes for more black & white policies; appear to be non sexist, but clearly have glass ceiling that remains intact as an invisible cloak

October 2017

Equally qualified male and female candidates are sorted into different tracks from the interview stage. Women are pushed into administrative roles, and sold on the "growth potential" only to find that there is no growth track (or a very small chance of it). Males with similar or less experience are tracked immediately into MA programs. You are not allowed to discuss compensation, and there is no set compensation guide available, so you have no way of determining if you are being compensated fairly. Asking co-workers what they make is a fire-able offense. Maternity leave policy actually got worse in the past few years, and there is no flexibility or work life balance. You cannot work from home ever, so if your child is sick, you need to find a babysitter or take one of your limited sick/ vacation days.

Its a strong sense of community here, but the few men who are on staff advance faster than women and have less to prove.

The flexibility really depends on which department you are in and what role you play. Personally, I am not allowed to telecommute but I believe most of the other positions are.

April 2017

You will love working here. Both main offices have great folks that are easy to work with. Most everyone is a pleasure - that isn't always true everywhere! It's government contracting, so there's high expectation but there's also room to grow. You can run your own area and expand without micromanaging. To be fully honest, the health insurance for families is a little high.

For HQ people, the company directly can decide and change hours. For people working on contracts, the hours are set by the client. The below applies only to HQ. Working remotely is discouraged and the core hours are a full shift. However, when unusual circumstances require flexibility, there is no problem with getting adjustments made. 100% management will work with you.

February 2016

I think there is opportunity for advancement despite gender. However, I don't feel that there is a culture of mentorship. Competition is the norm and I think the agency could benefit from more collaboration.
