You have to demonstrate male like characteristics to be promoted. However they do allow flexibility (formal and informal).

No inherent gender discrimination, but treatment varies greatly by coworker and customer. You can move up but be prepared to work harder.

I feel that the HR folks at Blizzard are mostly women but they do nothing to help other women. In fact, they are the worst offenders with a "mean girls" mentality all the way up to the VP of HR who is also a woman.

Maybe. Depends on what role. The game teams are not female friendly even though they want to hire more females, they don't provide training to their employees and there is a lot of harassment that goes on unchecked.

Lots of flexibility, but very little chance for real advancement unless you are a white male.

  • Recommend to Women?

Maybe. Work at home options are plentiful, but unless you are near. Large office hub, you will be overlooked for advancement and undertrained to do your job. You will have to figure everything out on your own, and the white guys will get promoted to the AVP and above positions, even if they represent 5% of the team.

November 2015

Telecommute policy allows managers to determine rules for their organization. As such it is allowed and managed well in some organizations. Other organizations don't allow any telecommuting. This has created issues for me personally. There is a good mix of women in management positions and at the executive level too.
