March 2018

Majority female staff but there appears to be a focus in hiring more men lately, many who now occupy C-Suite level positions. Ethnic diversity is fairly low but that's typical in PR/marketing, unfortunately. Many working moms on staff so flex-time is generally accepted and encouraged with many parents WFH on Fridays, or leaving before official office closing time. For an agency, Marina Maher Communications does a great job in emphasizing work-life balance, which is highly unusual in this industry.

It has great flexibility, but you have to overcome a stigma for using that flexibility during busy seasons. The downsides are insurance isn’t great, bereavement time is very minimal, not a lot of diversity which leads to stagnant practices, sexual harassment culture needs a lot of work.

Top two managers are women, so i think it is as level playing field as a woman could get.

Very catty women. Very insecure managers. They bully people. They do not pay well for the amount of work that is expected.

The benefits are good (they pay 100% of insurance (including family coverage). If the women is in sales, marketing, HR, or administrative; I'd say "go for it". But, for technical women, you have no change for advancement.

Whether you will have flexibility is entirely dependent upon your boss and department. Some are incredibly flexible, others are not.

February 2016

I've worked with Fuzz for 1 1/2 years, and it's clear that Fuzz values talent over gender, which is refreshing. We are a tech company, and many of our employees are under the age of 30, so there's a very open-mind to social issues. More importantly, we have no vacation policy (meaning take as much as you need), flex time, and work from home privileges. Fuzz very much believes in the concept of treating employees as humans with life outside of work. About 60% of Senior Leadership and Directors are male, and the other 40% female. Because we are such a young company in terms of average employee age, no one has actually needed to take maternity leave. One colleague's wife gave birth, and he took off an afternoon, but I believe firmly that Fuzz would have given him time if he'd requested it off - especially if we could have planned around it.

This is a great place to work if you are comfortable with where you are. Perfect role to focus on family but if you want to advance I'd find a smaller company.
