It is entrepreneurial in spirit and everyone has a voice and room to contribute toward change if she wants to and takes the initiative. Huge recent commitment to Diversity & Inclusion, especially toward women.

Level of Flexibility
1 2 3 4 5In certain respects, Fitch is one of the most flexible workplaces I've experienced. People work very hard, to very high standards but workflow can be somewhat more predictable than at other places, especially in the financial services industry. Some of the policies are not as flex-friendly as they could be but Fitch has acknowledged this and has demonstrated a commitment to moving this forward.

Pay and benefits are great, and the agency is friendly and people-oriented. You can ask for flexibility re: pumping, etc.

Instead of paid maternity leave, you use up all of your sick leave and annual leave, then you are eligible for FMLA.

If you're looking for a place that allows for flexibility, this company does a great job. However, there is a lack of women in executive positions.

I would say that there are almost no women in leadership positions but that management seems committed to changing that, at least to some degree.

Departments can vary all over the spectrum. Also, do not assume that reporting to someone pregnant will yield any empathy. Surely, every department differs, but hopefully you do not have to resort to requesting any accommodation(s). I say this because my experience with the SOM HR was that they were willing to blatantly ignore federal law and argue with a passion for their convenience and gain. I ended up resigning and then having to appeal their "decision." I did win my case, but many cannot afford an attorney, especially without guarantee to win your case. It opened my eyes that even large corporations with a dedication to health and endless resources of professional opinions can still be unjust, unlawful, and unintelligent.

November 2015
I enjoy working here because of the amazing service we provide to our community. There are far more women than men employed here. That being said, the policies do not specifically support women. There is no easily accessible or publicized information on how they specifically make the workplace friendly to women. Short Term Disability was recently improved but still caps at $1000 a week which is not 60% of a mid-level or higher salary. No designated pumping areas or time allotted to it. No paid maternity leave.
