This can be a good place for a woman to work, but make sure you really understand what your job is before you accept. There's a very strong culture that's not really acknowledged, you're just supposed to absorb it.

    Maybe. Women and men are given equal treatment and responsibility which is wonderful. This does not mean that women are receiving what they need to thrive. Both men and women could benefit from more flexible schedules. Women AND men should have more opportunities to job share, work part time, work from home, etc. This would be especially beneficial to those who start families or need to care for others. Having job shares does NOT mean doing menial tasks. If you're a qualified worker, you should just be entrusted with a proportionally smaller work load, not less important, when you are working less hours. I fully believe that GBD supports men and women equally, but I do not think that we currently give women the leg up they need to be successful when they are pursuing a successful career AND raising a family. We only have 1 woman in the office who has children. Nearly all of the men do. That means something.

Don't work here if you expect respect for your personal life, want to be promoted or to be valued for your contributions. Do work here if you enjoy working excessive hours, micro-management, minimal pay increases (at most 1-3% annually), no bonuses, blackout dates on when you can take vacation, no time off during any holiday or summer/winter or spring vacations, and minimal training/ staff to help you do your job.

Cisco preaches inclusion and diversity and stands by this. There are a number of women and diverse employees in leadership positions, and development for female employees and leaders is very highly encouraged. I do think that men are still paid more than women (generally speaking across all industries), but do not believe gender plays a part at Cisco when salary/bonuses/raises are determined. There is always room for more women in tech and am proud I work for a company that promotes this from within!
