They try and promote flex time, but the senior executives and partners don't really embrace it.

May 2017

This is not an environment where women really help other women. I actually think it's somewhat competitive and some of the women are downright nasty. Unfortunately, that includes the VP of HR and the CEO.

There are more gender inequality struggles among financial advisors than among office roles like mine.

Flexibility is determined manager-by-manager. Culturally, working from home is generally not supported at the top of the house, so I feel guilty when I do it. Even though I'm putting in more time and being more productive when I do it.

Schwab just increased their parental leave time off to 6 weeks paid. If I were still having kids, I'd be pumped about that.

Quite a bit of travel and time away from home required. Leads are for existing customers which is a lower pay rate but you are encouraged to go out and find new customers on your own.

November 2015

No maternity leave, just short term disability. Senior management either never had kids or had traditional families where the wives stay home. Work life balance depends on the department and manager. HR is very traditional, no working from home, rare to have flex time mostly a 8-5 shop, no daycare or extra incentives for childcare. Fifty percentage match 401k for first 10%. There is generous PTO, corporate bonus is small each year so negotiate hard for initial salary.

July 2015

It is not such a great place to work if you have a family in need of health insurance. Working at a franchise with a small staff the conditions are not good for a woman who needs to pump for a breastfeeding baby at home. I have not worked here while pregnant.
