"You hear a lot about Rady being a place that always promotes from within, but that is an incorrect statement. Once you accept a position, you are locked into that position for several years. There is no room for advancement. Management and leadership are a mess. The few women that we do have in leadership do not support other women. Instead, they follow in the footsteps of the stereotypical, white, older male executive and treat other women in the same archaic/outdated way. I would not recommend working here unless you get hired into an upper level executive position and are willing to fight the good fight for change, which may or may not happen. Also, pay level is either at market level or below. There is no formal training when you begin a new position - it's a learn by fire type of thing. They also like to work their employees like mules. As a result, many are burnt out and are expected to maintain an unhealthy workload. "

"There are great maternity leave benefits but the pay is at market level or below. They talk all about how we promote from within but the reality is that once you have your position, you are locked in for several years. Promotions are hard to come by. "
