Maternity leave is ok. Working remotely is not encouraged and part-time schedules have been eliminated since the downturn. Great women's network, but not much in the way of tangible programs to advance women in management.

    Maternity leave is 12 weeks paid if you have a c-section, 6 weeks for a vaginal birth. It's a stupid policy, but I was told by HR that most of our direct competitors only offer 6 weeks regardless of birth type, so the policy won't be changing any time soon.

Ask around and understand what the experience is like for the women you meet with. Ask about the portion of women and how it compares to the local area. Be sure that you agree with the reasons. Also -- if there are no women, it's probably not a good sign. Even as an intern, I felt like I was treated differently than my male colleagues despite the fact that even as full-time employees, only a small portion was expected to remain at BCG before child-bearing years.
