"This is a very toxic work environment. Most women quit after only one week some leave in less time than that. The only employee that has lasted longer than a few months is her daughter and that’s just because she will run it one day. And her daughter is a HUGE part of the problem. The day I finally quit her daughter humiliated me by teaching me how to mop like I was a child and demanding things out of me all day and snapping at me like I was her teenage daughter if I even sounded stressed because of how she was acting. They spoke poorly about me for wearing jeans even though the owner and her daughter were both wearing jeans and jeans were allowed. On my first day the owner gossiped about me to other employees saying that she was going to fire me because I didn’t have what it took to make sales (I sold almost $1000 worth of stuff on my first day). The people that run this store are very two faced. If you take a job here be prepared."

"They would say they’re flexible but they really were not. No one was allowed Saturdays off at all (despite having people that only worked Saturday). If other people called out or just decided to not show up the people that were already working all week would have to pick up the Saturday slack as well. Not to mention as someone that was supposed to be part time, I was working full-time hours."

"Again, I have to bring up the gossip. To your face the owner seems very nice, and her daughter is mostly nice as well. But I heard so much crap about how “We would fire her if she didn’t make money for us” out of them both about the nicest person they had working there. They may seem supportive to your face but they are undermining you and talking poorly about you behind your back. And they are not clear on directions. I would be told by the owner to mop around the soda counter and when I was putting the mop away the daughter would come in and say “when we say mop around the soda fountain we mean the whole store, you missed so many spots out there”. The owner would get upset that you didn’t put out new items by yourself but then tell you that you did it wrong and that she’s picky if you did. "
