The work is challenging, you are never bored, much is expected from you. At the corporate level, women dominate. It is a respectful environment

Overall, the University gets good ratings for equality. It's important to look at the specific divisions.

The likelihood that I will leave has more to do with the current US political situation than my job. If the US weren't imploding (or if I don't get the overseas job I am applying for), I'd be more likely to stay and fight it out.

  • Recommend to Women?

Maybe. Some of the divisions and departments appear to be better than others. Leadership is a crucial factor. Baseline benefits are equal between men and women.

December 2016

If you have a young family, this is NOT the place for you. If you want to start a new family; this is not for you. If you want to learn a ton, have autonomy on your program, and have a stressful, but rapid growth phase, this might be for you.

They do not have paid maternity leave and the head of Legal who has pregnant woman reporting to her didn't even know this.

  • Recommend to Women?

Maybe. There is no paid maternity leave, and the company is a consumer-driven healthcare platform. Neither the General Counsel (4 years tenure) nor a couple C-level execs knew that their not-so-great benefits do NOT include a paid maternity leave. The CEO's "warm charming smile" and hugs to women, and use of the term "Alegeus Family" is a means to an end. His heart is not in it... it's all about generating revenue and clients to jack up the company's networth for the sell off which generally happens every 3 years.

The Culture is amazing! Not the media blitz, but the way that all the leaders, men and women alike respect each other. There is seemingly no barriers between the two. After having worked in less women friendly environments, Huron has made all the difference in my success.
