It's a nice place to work with tons of women supporting one another.

The maternity leave is great and there is not concern about job loss upon returning.

I'm not sure employees are valued in the manner in which they should be. However, this is not a discrepancy between men and women. It applies to all employees, and at times it applies to no one.

It is overall a kind workplace but there could be more transparency. There are many women employed here (more than men) and that can often fuel more competition than mentorship.

There is some competition for in the job hierarchy and can be difficult with many women seeking the same positions.

I've worked here for over 3 years and every morning I am grateful to be here. Scholastic is a mission driven company and very family friendly. There a tons of smart, creative people and some women in top positions, though mostly men. It's not the most dynamic, cutting edge place, so you shouldn't stay too long because you will fall behind. But for a certain phase of a working mom's life, this is the place to be.

Amazing maternity leave and very accommodating if you have children (at least my dept). Good work/life balance. There are women in management roles but upper Management is male-dominate and they have been with the company for decades. It makes it difficult for women to have a strong voice since the practices of these higher-ups is very dated.
