A more competitive PTO policy is warranted. As well as equal compensation, despite gender.

February 2018

If you're starting off your career, Simon is a fantastic place to start, learn the trade and take what you learn to another company. You'll slave for the company with no recognition and no compensation but you'll learn so much through the process. Unfortunately, the pay is one of the lowest in the industry, the benefits are some of the worst and family life/work-life balance is not supported so it's a good place to start but not stay for your career.

The company culture is to work, work, work. There's little time for family and time off to take care of one's family is looked down upon. You had to adhere to the strict schedule of the company and had little to no holiday benefits.

January 2018

Columbia University Libraries gave me a great kick-start to my career. Many non-professional positions are unionized with 1199-SEIU, and Columbia participates in the career development program that covered a good portion of my tuition expenses for my masters in library science at the Palmer School. If you are considering librarianship as a career, I highly recommend looking for work at Columbia to learn more about the profession and take advantages of professional development opportunities that the institution provides to unionized employees.

December 2017

While PTO is above average for similar consulting firms, lack of respect for time off and work/life balance is toxic at this firm.

November 2017

The overall culture is dysfunctional and it seems that upper management is either clueless or intentionally looking the other way. Promotions are based solely on seniority in the past so there are people in positions that aren't the best for the job. Combine that with not wanting to improve processes, there is a lot of resentment across teams and pressure just to get things done, rather than put out a quality product.

March 2016

Can you believe that a CHILDREN"S HOSPITAL offers employees NO PARENTAL LEAVE?! And the PTO is a joke. It doesn't roll over so you have to use it or lose it and they make you use your PTO if you want to get paid on holidays.
