Short-term disability for 6-8 weeks. The rest comes out of “choice time” which is your vacation, holiday time bank. This actually is generous and accrues quickly, but you do have to plan well ahead and hoard.

You can pick your schedule for the most part. I chose a 6-2 shift because my husband can take our son to school and I get off in time to pick him up

Sexism among certain departments was a bit of an issue but it was nothing HR wasn’t willing to jump on right away. Pay is good but unequal. If you’re in need of a job, they’ll be good to you. But I wouldn’t recommend it for a long term career place.

Again it really depends on which office you are located in. Management let’s individual regions set their own policies which means some regions are great and some are not.

The company and the industry are very old-fashioned. Be prepared for a boys club. Also its an extremely non-diverse workforce.

Its a very small company, but men and women are pretty much treated the same. It should be noted that as the male shop owner is not originally from this country, his views on women are not inline with the US. Shop talk can sometimes be a bit inappropriate.

It is a great company for women. The benefits are great; Backup Childcare, access to Care.com, snacks, and concierge service. Also it is a very family friendly company and culture. Many women in leadership but it is hard to advance. You have to work very hard and sometimes get creative with ideas for promotions.

September 2015

A bit of an old boys club, but that is the same with most investment companies. Never felt discriminated because of gender, but lots of the men get together after work for golf, poker and fantasy sports leagues. It can be an odd dynamic being one of the few women. Experience will depend on what group you are in. Very generous maternity leave.
