As an organization designed to advance/advocate for women, it walks its talk much of the time, but could do a better job of investing in its staff and helping them develop skills to be successful in the organization and beyond.

Office job, nothing special but it pays the bills. Depending on the client and supervisor you can either have a flexible work schedule or a non-flex one

Family friendly environment, especially for new parents. 8 weeks paid parental leave and flexible work schedule upon return. The 8 weeks is ok, but the flexible schedule upon return is amazing.

January 2016

Decent amount of women working here, some in management, though usually mid-level or below. I don't know about their maternity leave, but benefits weren't great, so I wouldn't bank on anything more than 6 weeks.

November 2015

There are several women in management roles. However, the benefits are sub-par, especially if you have a family. No paid maternity or paternity leave, no short-term disability insurance, few vacation days, and very expensive health insurance. Salaries are higher, however, than other public media outlets. Some departments are flexible and supportive of women who may need to work from home for a day if a child is sick, etc - others are not. It depends on your position. There is a private area for breastfeeding mothers to pump, so that is a plus.
