"That Sonepar/Capital has afforded me a career that I could raise my daughter comfortably by myself. Has been supportive in whatever I asked for over the years. I would also tell them that you have to work hard and get involved. There are not "extra" people around to do your job while you are out except for the absolute most pressing issues so prepare before you go out for whatever reason and be prepared to put the hours in upon your return."

"For flexibility with home life I feel like it comes down to individuals and their managers. I would like to see something more company wide that states what the policy is and if managers can make special accommodations. I never used all of my sick time while my child was young but I had a great support system however Women with children need more sick days to accommodate them and not feel guilty. I've been here 23 years and raised my daughter while working as a single parent. I always felt guilty when I would have to leave or take off but I also resented that I felt guilty and no one said this is your reality and we will figure it out. "

"I would tell other women that the warehouse level is a great place to meet exceptional women from diverse backgrounds who are pushing the boundaries of what is excepted for women. I would tell women that we need more strong empowered women to join us and continue to make Sonepar an even better company"

"I think support is also holding those collegues that directly effect my job performance accountable for their failures. We all need to work as a team and accept failures as a team. Managers that refuse confrontation are not effective and drive out good workers. You can be supportive in trainings, personal job performance, etc., but if those team members who negatively impact performance of others due to not holding up their weight - it outweighs all of the positive support. "
