October 2018

It is a great place to work in terms of being respected as a woman. However, a lot of women (and men) leave once they have children as it is difficult to manage the consulting lifestyle with a structured family schedule.

The nature of consulting makes it difficult to have a lot of flexibility as we have to meet client demands. However, I think the lower levels of management in my office strive to be flexible.

Work/life balance depends on the culture of your region and the Regional Director. Simpson offers paid maternity leave after 1 year of employment, but it’s at 50% of your base salary and maxed at $750/week.

August 2016

Keep your resume and skills sharp. You won't have much support while working there, and the executive team/family has made some risky financial decisions in the past after periods of growth and then had to do layoffs.
